It’s a new month and another busy week for FCB Nyasa Big Bullets. Three of our teams will be in action in their respective competitions, including an international friendly match involving the first team on Thursday.
Let’s take a look at what’s coming ahead for the main team, the reserves, the youth team and our women’s side.
First team
Following our TNM Super League goalless draw against Mighty Mukuru Wanderers in the Blantyre derby on Saturday, Kalisto Pasuwa’s men will be travelling to Lilongwe to play Tanzanian champions, Yanga SC, on Wednesday in an international friendly match.
The two sides will face off as part of Malawi’s 59th Independence Celebrations on 6 July at Bingu National Stadium.
It will be our third friendly match in the new season, having played Silver Strikers twice, on Kamuzu Day at Civo Stadium, and during the Castel Challenge Cup launch at Bingu National Stadium.
Straight from this friendly match, The People’s Team will return to Kamuzu Stadium for a TNM Super League encounter against Blue Eagles on Sunday.
The defending champions will be looking to return to winning ways following the back-to-back goalless draws against Kamuzu Barracks and Wanderers.
Going into Week 12 of this campaign, Bullets are second in the standings, trailing leaders Silver Strikers by three points from 11 games.
Reserves
Our team B will also have a busy week with two ThumbsUp Southern Region Football League games awaiting Enos Chatama’s boys.
Straight from their 1-0 victory away to Chisomo Academy to reach the knockout stages of the Champions Cup, Bullets Reserves will host MDF Marine on Thursday at Kamuzu Stadium before travelling to Mangochi to face Mangochi United on Sunday.
Youth
Our junior side will play Yizo Yizo Warriors at a venue yet to be announced by the Youth Football Committee in the Under-19 FCB Cup.
Autry Kalulu’s youngsters are currently topping Group A with 10 points following their 2-0 victory over Soche Madrid on Saturday.
They will be facing a side which is seventh in the standings with just a point, having lost 3-1 to CC Stars.
Women
They were in Mozambique for a friendly match against United Desportivo de Lichinga where they lost 1-0.
As they continue fine-tuning for the forthcoming FAM Women’s Football Southern Region League, Maggie Chombo’s ladies will not be involved in any game this weekend, unless there are changes to the kickoff dates for their competition.
