Nyasa Big Bullets FC can confirm that Vanessa Chikupila has completed her transfer to Green Buffaloes Women’s FC.
She has signed a one-year contract with the Lusaka-based Football Association of Zambia Women’s Super Division side.
Chikupila joined Bullets Women in 2022 after the club completed the acquisition of Blantyre Zero.
The 27-year-old wing forward helped Bullets win the 2022 FAM Women’s Football Southern Region League championship, scoring 43 goals.
In the just-ended campaign, the Malawi international finished as the top scorer after finding the back of the net 46 times, despite our women’s team finishing second with two points behind champions Ntopwa, a side she temporarily joined on loan during the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League COSAFA qualifiers.
Chikupila becomes the third player to complete a transfer to a foreign club from Bullets Women following the departure of Emily Jossam, who joined another Zambian outfit Zesco Ndola Girls on a two-year deal in August, and Mary Chabvinda, who is now in Rwanda at Rayon Sports Women after she also signed a two-year contract in October.
