Seven FCB Nyasa Big Bullets players have been named in the Malawi squad for the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship 2024 qualifiers against South Africa.
The Flames will first host Bafana Bafana at the Bingu National Stadium on May 3 before traveling for the away fixture in Pretoria on May 11.
Richard Chimbamba, Lloyd Aaron, Yankho Singo, Chikumbutso Salima, Wongani Lungu and Chawanangwa Gumbo were in the Flames team that defeated Comoros 4-0 on aggregate in March to reach the second round playoffs.
Andrew Jovinala, who joined us in January from Blue Eagles, has earned his maiden national team call-up. The defender has been involved in all the four games Bullets has played this season, including three in TNM Super League and one in the Airtel Top 8.
Malawi will go into camp in Lilongwe on April 28 in preparation for the upcoming back-to-back games.
A positive result over Bafana Bafana will see Pasuwa’s side qualifying for the CHAN finals for the first time in history. The tournament will be held in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda in August.
