FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Women are set to launch their 2025/26 FAM Women’s Southern Region Football League title defense this weekend as they welcome Zomba City Lioness to Kamuzu Stadium.
Our women’s team enters the new season determined to build on last year’s success. After an unbeaten run in the 2024 campaign, which saw them claim the regional league trophy with authority, they are focused on retaining their title with another commanding performance this season.
Maggie Chombo’s ladies returns to competitive action after a two-month layoff, keen to put behind them the disappointment of their early exit from the 2024 Goshen National Championship at the hands of city rivals Kukoma Ntopwa Women. The Bullets will be looking to start their new journey on a positive note.
Their opponents, Zomba City Lioness—formerly known as Red Lioness—arrive with renewed determination and ambition. The Zomba side is eager to make a statement in their season opener, especially against the reigning champions.
Details regarding the match date and kick-off time will be confirmed soon.
The regional league, previously called the Goshen-FAM Women’s League, welcomes new sponsors this year: BetPawa Malawi.
