The wait is over. History begins today.
FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Women are all set for their debut in the NBM Women’s Premiership as they take on familiar foes Kukoma Ntopwa Women this afternoon at Mpira Stadium in Chiwembe. Kick-off is at 14:30.
It’s a clash that goes beyond points—it’s pride, rivalry, and the launch of a new era in Malawian women’s football.
Starting XI: Mwase; Sapangwa, Dzimau, James, Chiwere; Mwanyongo, Mohammed, Kapanda (C), Sani, Malora; Chavinda.
Substitutes: Malemia, Mkwalura, Msukwa, Yotam, Safilodi, Mnenura, Matemba, Issa, Mlenzo.
Coach Maggie Chombo leads a determined Bullets side into this historic campaign opener with a line-up that speaks of power, resilience, and attacking intent.
At the back, the experienced trio of Dzimau, James, and Sapangwa anchor the defence, with Mwase between the posts. The midfield boasts both grit and flair, led by captain Zainab Kapanda and fellow Malawi international Tendai Sani, supported by Mwanyongo, Mohammed, and Malora, who makes a return from injury alongside Mohammed after both recovered from setbacks suffered during the 2024 Goshen-FAM Southern Region Women’s League.
Up front, Mary Chavinda, freshly returned from a stint with Rayon Sports in Rwanda, leads the line and will be looking to mark her comeback with goals.
While Bullets are officially the home team, Mpira Stadium also serves as Ntopwa’s base, and with their large following from nearby Bangwe, a lively and balanced atmosphere is expected in Chiwembe.
It’s a derby feel. A historic start. A Maule moment.
All the best to our ladies in red and white—history is calling.
