Inside Bullets: What’s In Store This Week

From Malawi’s northern tip to the southern pitches, the Bullets badge will be on the move this week. After a challenging round of results, every FCB Nyasa Big Bullets side is on a mission to respond, with fixtures stretching from Chitipa to Blantyre.

First Team – Historic Trip to Chitipa

The People’s Team are set for a milestone moment this Sunday with our first-ever fixture in Chitipa District.

Peter Mponda’s men will face Chilumba Barracks in the FDH Bank Cup Round of 32 at Chitipa Stadium on 17 August.

Chilumba Barracks, based in Karonga, are 10th in the NBS Bank National Division League with 10 points from 10 matches, having won two, drawn four, and lost four. They head into this tie on the back of a morale-boosting 1-0 away victory over Bangwe All Stars in Blantyre on Sunday.

Coming from last weekend’s 3-3 draw with Karonga United at Kamuzu Stadium, Bullets will be aiming to bounce back with a strong showing in the country’s most lucrative knockout competition. Kick-off is at 14:30 CAT.

Women’s Team – Back Home Against Moyale Sisters

Our Maule Sisters return to a 14:30 CAT NBM Women’s Premiership action on Sunday when they host Moyale Sisters at Mpira Stadium in Chiwembe.

Currently fifth in the standings with one win, one draw, and one loss, Maggie Chombo’s side are aiming for maximum points after a 1-1 stalemate away to MDF Lioness at Champion Stadium in Mponela last Saturday.

Moyale Sisters, ninth in the 10-team league with just one point from their first three matches, will be determined to improve their position, but Bullets Women will see this as a key opportunity to climb higher up the table.

Under19 – Away to Young Stars

The Maule youngsters will be on the road this weekend in the Blantyre District Youth Football League, taking on Young Stars at a venue to be confirmed.

Currently sitting on 10 points from six matches, our Under-19s will look to build on Wednesday morning’s hard-fought goalless draw away to league leaders Soche Madrid.

Reserves – Preparing for Final First-Round Fixture

Our Reserves will not be in action this week as they prepare for their final first-round fixture in the ThumbsUp Southern Region Football League.

Heston Munthali’s men will return on Wednesday, 21 August, to face Liberty FC at Kamuzu Stadium.

Liberty are coached by former Bullets captain and Under-19 assistant coach Chimango Kayira, adding an extra layer of familiarity to the clash. The Reserves will be eager to close the round on a high after Monday’s 2-0 defeat to rivals Mighty Wanderers Reserves at Mpira Stadium.

Kick-off is at 14:30 CAT.

From Chitipa to Chiwembe, and from the youth league grounds to Kamuzu Stadium, it’s another week for Maule supporters to get behind every Bullets team in action and help inspire a strong response.
