As the men’s top-flight action returns following the FIFA international break, all four FCB Nyasa Big Bullets teams are back in focus this week. From an FDH Bank Cup quarterfinal at Kamuzu Stadium to a top-of-the-table women’s clash in Chiwembe, here’s what’s coming up for Maule.
Women Face Unbeaten Silver Ladies
FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Women welcome Silver Strikers Ladies to Mpira Stadium this Wednesday in the NBM Women’s Premiership.
Fresh from a 1-0 Blantyre derby victory over Mighty Wanderers Queens on Sunday, Maggie Chombo’s charges will look to maintain their winning form when they take on the unbeaten league leaders.
Silver Strikers Ladies lead the table with 21 points, followed by Ascent Academy on 16, while Bullets Women sit third on 13, all from seven games.
A win for Bullets would close the gap and reignite their title ambitions heading into the second half of the campaign.
First Team Host KB In FDH Cup
After the FIFA international break, the first team returns to competitive action this Saturday as Peter Mponda’s men host Kamuzu Barracks in the FDH Bank Cup quarterfinals at Kamuzu Stadium.
The People’s Team entered the break on a high after a 2-1 TNM Super League victory over defending champions Silver Strikers and will be looking to extend that form in knockout action.
With two FDH Bank Cup titles already secured in 2022 and 2023, Mponda’s men are eyeing a historic third crown as they take on KB at home.
Reserves Await Next Fixture
The next Bullets Reserves fixture will be confirmed once released by the ThumbsUp Southern Region Football Association.
Heston Munthali’s side battled to a goalless draw with leaders Ekhaya Reserves at Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday — a result that briefly lifted them into second before Chilobwe United’s 3-0 victory over Mwanza Stars on Monday pushed them back to third.
Under-19 Await Fixture Update
The Under-19s are awaiting confirmation of their next match from the Blantyre District Youth Football Association.
Yamikani Fodya’s youngsters head into the upcoming fixture in fine form after edging Nyambadwe United 1-0 at Chilomoni Stadium on Sunday. They currently sit third on the BDYFL table and remain firmly in the title race after a string of impressive results.
