Officials for Bullets vs Kamuzu Barracks FDH quarterfinal

Godfrey Nkhakananga has been assigned to officiate FCB Nyasa Big Bullets’ FDH Bank Cup quarterfinal against Kamuzu Barracks at Kamuzu Stadium this Saturday afternoon, leading an experienced panel of match officials.

Centre Referee: Godfrey Nkhakananga

At the centre of this weekend’s showdown will be Nkhakananga, a man well accustomed to the pressure of high-stakes fixtures.

The Central Region-based referee boasts vast experience at both domestic and international levels, having overseen major matches across multiple competitions.

Earlier this month, Nkhakananga was on continental duty, taking charge of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier between Somalia and Algeria, further underlining his growing reputation on the international stage.

For Bullets fans, Nkhakananga is a familiar figure in big moments. This season, he has already officiated The People’s Team three times — first as fourth official in the Super League opener against Silver Strikers, then in the Airtel Top 8 quarterfinal win over Creck United, and finally in the Airtel Top 8 final victory against The Bankers in Lilongwe.

He also presided over some of Bullets’ memorable cup fixtures in recent years, including the 2022 Airtel Top 8 Final against Mighty Wanderers, the 2023 FDH Bank Cup semifinal versus Kamuzu Barracks, and last year’s Castel Challenge Cup semifinal against Mzuzu City Hammers.

Other Match Officials

Nkhakananga will be assisted by Samson Wasili and Mabvuto Godoya, with Gift Chicco serving as fourth official, while Fanny Nkosiyazi Minandi takes up the role of referee assessor.

Wasili has been a regular figure in Bullets games since 2023. Saturday’s clash marks his second involvement with The People’s Team this season, having been on the lines during the 1-0 away win over Dedza Dynamos in May.

Godoya returns to officiate a Bullets fixture for the first time this campaign. He last took charge of one of our matches in November 2024, when The People’s Team faced Civil Service United in Lilongwe, a contest that ended 2-2 after Bullets gave away a two-goal lead.

Chicco, who will serve as the fourth official, was the centre referee when Bullets defeated Dedza Dynamos 3-0 at Kamuzu Stadium in September during the TNM Super League. Saturday’s FDH Bank Cup quarterfinal will be the fifth Bullets game he has officiated this season.

On her part, Minandi will oversee proceedings as referee assessor. This will be her fourth Bullets game since August 2023. Her most recent involvement came in November 2024, when The People’s Team beat Mighty Tigers 3-0 at Kamuzu Stadium.

Saturday’s encounter promises to be an exciting contest as The People’s Team battle the military side for a place in the semifinals of the FDH Bank Cup. Kick-off is scheduled for 2:30 PM in Blantyre.
