Frank Willard: The team is focused and hungry

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets captain Frank Willard says Maule are fully focused and hungry for success as they prepare for the Castel Challenge Cup final.

The People’s Team will face Goshen City Dedza Dynamos on Saturday at Bingu National Stadium in the final match of the 2025/26 season.

Looking ahead to the much-anticipated clash, Willard described reaching the final as a milestone for the squad but stressed the mission is far from complete.

“Making it to the final is a great achievement for us as players, but we are not satisfied yet. We want to win this trophy,” said Willard.

“Everyone understands what’s at stake in a cup final. Dedza Dynamos are a quality side, but Maule will leave everything on the pitch for the badge. We cannot take our opponents lightly.”

Willard attributed the team’s journey to the final to relentless effort and strong unity within the squad.

“Our progress in this competition has been built on hard work in every match,” he explained. “The players have shown real commitment and determination to get here, and now we have to give even more on the biggest stage.”

The captain acknowledged that Saturday will present a stern test, with both sides equally hungry for silverware.

“It will be a tough game because they are also aiming to win. We are preparing for a competitive battle, but we will fight for every minute until the trophy is ours,” he added.

Willard also called on the club’s passionate supporters, the Maule, to fill the stands and inspire the team.

“I urge our fans to come in large numbers and support us. You are our 12th player. Your presence lifts us and gives extra energy on the field. Together, we will bring the trophy home,” he concluded.
