Referee Cedric Mwachumu

Match Officials: Bullets vs Red Lions

The officiating team for FCB Nyasa Big Bullets’ 2026/27 FDH Bank Premiership fixture against Red Lions at Joyce Chitsulo Stadium in Mwanza has been appointed.

Sunday’s encounter will be handled by Cedric Mwachumu as The People’s Team return to Mwanza for their second home fixture of the campaign following the recent 1-0 victory over MAFCO FC at the same venue and last weekend’s Blantyre derby triumph over Mighty Wanderers.

The officiating panel features officials with prior experience in Bullets fixtures, including a reunion for three members of the team that handled The People’s Team’s Castel Challenge Cup Round of 16 victory over Ndirande Stars in January.

Cedric Mwachumu, Referee

Mwachumu returns to take charge of a Bullets fixture after officiating The People’s Team’s 3-1 victory over Ndirande Stars in the Castel Challenge Cup Round of 16 in January.

Sunday’s assignment will mark the fourth Bullets match of his refereeing career as centre referee, adding another top-flight fixture involving Maule to his growing officiating profile.

His latest appointment comes as Bullets continue their early-season campaign in Mwanza, with the referee set to oversee another important FDH Bank Premiership contest at Joyce Chitsulo Stadium.

Mussah Grant, Assistant Referee

Grant will reunite with centre referee Cedric Mwachumu in a Bullets fixture after the pair previously worked together during The People’s Team’s 3-1 Castel Challenge Cup Round of 16 victory over Ndirande Stars in January.

The assistant referee was part of the officiating panel for that cup encounter and now returns for another assignment involving Maule as Bullets continue their early-season league campaign in Mwanza.

His role on Sunday will be key in supporting decision-making on the line throughout what is expected to be another competitive FDH Bank Premiership contest.

Mphatso Mmangisa, Assistant Referee

Mmangisa was also part of the officiating team that handled Bullets’ 3-1 Castel Challenge Cup Round of 16 victory over Ndirande Stars in January, where he worked on the lines alongside Mussah Grant under centre referee Cedric Mwachumu.

Sunday’s fixture will therefore see the same trio reunite for another assignment involving The People’s Team, this time in the FDH Bank Premiership at Joyce Chitsulo Stadium in Mwanza.

His inclusion adds further familiarity and continuity to the officiating panel for the encounter against Red Lions.

Michael Mwambyale, Fourth Official

Mwambyale returns to a Bullets fixture for the first time since July last year when he officiated as centre referee during The People’s Team’s 1-0 league victory over Ekhaya FC at Kamuzu Stadium.

He has also previously worked alongside Cedric Mwachumu in a Bullets fixture involving relegated Mighty Tigers, highlighting another reunion within Sunday’s officiating panel.

This time, Mwambyale takes up Fourth Official duties for Sunday’s encounter in Mwanza, where he will oversee technical area management and support communication among the officiating team.

Fanny Minandi, Match Assessor

Minandi returns to a Bullets fixture for the first time since October 2025 when she served as Match Commissioner during The People’s Team’s FDH Bank Cup quarterfinal clash against Kamuzu Barracks at Kamuzu Stadium.

Her latest appointment sees her return to a Bullets fixture in a different capacity, this time overseeing the assessment of the officiating team in Mwanza.

Minandi’s assessment will focus on key areas including match control, positioning, communication and overall decision-making across the 90 minutes.

Sunday’s encounter will therefore feature an officiating panel carrying previous experience in Bullets matches as Maule continue their FDH Bank Premiership campaign in Mwanza.
