Report: Bullets 2-0 Creck Sporting

Ephraim Kondowe scored in either half as FCB Nyasa Big Bullets defeated Creck Sporting Club 2-0 on Saturday afternoon to secure a third consecutive FDH Bank Premiership victory.

The striker found the net in each half as The People’s Team extended our unbeaten start to the league campaign with another convincing display at Mpira Stadium.

Bullets combined clinical finishing with disciplined defending to claim a second successive clean sheet against a spirited Creck side that created opportunities of its own but failed to find a way past our backline.

The victory also maintained Wedson Nyirenda’s unbeaten start as head coach as The People’s Team continued their impressive run in the 2026 campaign.

Kondowe Strikes Early

Creck threatened inside the opening minutes after breaking beyond Bullets’ defensive line, but Innocent Nyasulu produced a superb double save to keep the visitors at bay.

The People’s Team responded positively and broke the deadlock in the ninth minute.

Clever Kalambo delivered an inviting cross into the six-yard box, where Kondowe arrived at the near post to steer home beyond Emmance Nyirenda for his third league goal of the season.

Bullets controlled possession for long spells thereafter, creating several opportunities through open play and set-pieces.

Frank Willard and Wongani Lungu both threatened from dead-ball situations, while Kalambo and Kondowe stretched the visitors’ defence with their movement and link-up play.

Creck remained dangerous whenever they ventured forward.

Ramadhan Ntafu twice threatened with headed opportunities, but Bullets stood firm through important interventions from Blessings Mpokera and Emmanuel Kaunga to preserve the lead until the interval.

Billiat Inspires Second Goal

Creck returned strongly after the restart, winning successive corners and several free-kicks in dangerous areas, but The People’s Team defended resolutely to maintain the advantage.

Bullets gradually regained control and almost doubled the lead when Lungu created space on the edge of the penalty area before firing narrowly wide.

Creck looked to inject fresh impetus just after the hour mark, introducing Clever Chikwata for Auspicious Kadzongola and Laurent Banda in place of Patrick Mupanzi.

Nyirenda responded six minutes later by introducing Misheck Billiat for Maxwell Phodo.

The change paid immediate dividends.

Billiat delivered an inviting cross that Kondowe met with a commanding header beyond Emmance Nyirenda to double Bullets’ lead in the 68th minute.

Nyirenda then introduced Hassan Kajoke for George Chaomba after the former Creck forward delivered an energetic display against his old club.

Creck also made another double substitution, introducing Ishmael Hassan for Ramadhan Ntafu and Ademola Ajibola in place of Harvey Nasiyaya as the visitors searched for a route back into the contest.

The People’s Team nearly added a third.

Prince Chiumia rattled the upright with a thunderous strike before Billiat sent the rebound just over the crossbar.

Creck continued to threaten from set-pieces during the closing stages, but Bullets comfortably dealt with the pressure before seeing out the remaining minutes to secure all three points.

The result extends Bullets’ unbeaten start to the FDH Bank Premiership season to nine matches and secures a third consecutive league victory.

The People’s Team move up to second in the FDH Bank Premiership standings on 19 points, level with leaders Blue Eagles but behind on goal difference after both sides completed their Matchweek 9 fixtures. Silver Strikers, who sit third on 17 points, are among the teams still to play on Sunday.

Kondowe’s outstanding display earned him the FDH Bank Premiership Player of the Match award.

The striker’s brace took his tally to four league goals for the season, continuing his fine scoring form with another decisive contribution for The People’s Team.
