A perfect start to his FDH Bank Premiership tenure has earned our gaffer league recognition.
FCB Nyasa Big Bullets head coach Wedson Nyirenda has been named the FDH Bank Premiership Coach of the Month for June.
The Zambian took charge of the record Malawi champions on a two-year contract on 10 June and made an immediate impact, guiding The People’s Team to maximum points from his first two league assignments.
Nyirenda opened his Premiership tenure with a 2-1 victory away to Kamuzu Barracks at Civo Stadium. Bullets followed that result with a 1-0 win over Masters FC at Mpira Stadium to complete a flawless month.
The People’s Team scored three goals and conceded just once across the two matches, with the Masters victory also delivering the first league clean sheet of Nyirenda’s current tenure.
Those results gave the Bullets boss a 100 per cent record in June, setting him apart from the other nominees, who each registered one win and one draw.
Nyirenda finished ahead of Ekhaya FC’s Enos Chatama, Civil Service United head coach Abbas Makawa and Silver Strikers’ Peter Mgangira to claim the accolade.
His recognition completes a Bullets double for June after wing-back Yamikani Mologeni was named the FDH Bank Premiership Player of the Month.
