FCB Nyasa Big Bullets travel to Dedza Stadium on Saturday to face Goshen City Dedza Dynamos in the FDH Bank Premiership.
The Central Region side have endured a difficult start to the campaign and sit 14th in the standings with eight points from 10 matches.
Their current position, however, does not tell the full story of an opponent that has regularly made life difficult for The People’s Team, particularly at Dedza Stadium.
Bullets needed a late Chikumbutso Salima strike to secure a narrow 1–0 victory on our last league visit to the venue.
Ahead of Saturday’s encounter, we take a closer look at Goshen City’s recent history, current form, record against Bullets and the players who could influence proceedings.
Recent History
Dedza Dynamos earned promotion to the top flight after winning the Chipiku Premier Division at the end of the 2021 season.
They made an immediate impression during their debut campaign, finishing inside the top eight and establishing themselves as a competitive presence in the league.
Now competing as Goshen City Dedza Dynamos following their sponsorship agreement with Goshen City, the club have experienced a challenging start to the current season.
Their struggles prompted changes to the technical panel, with Lazarus Nyemera and Luke Milanzi placed in interim charge after the club parted ways with Alex Ngwira.
Nyemera is leading the team with Milanzi serving as his assistant as the club seeks to turn its campaign around.
Current Form
Goshen City occupy 14th position with eight points from 10 matches, having recorded two victories, two draws and six defeats.
They have scored six goals and conceded 17 during a campaign in which consistency has proved difficult to find.
Their victories came against Kamuzu Barracks and Karonga United, while they collected points from draws against Moyale Barracks and Mighty Wanderers.
The six defeats came against Masters FC, Civil Service United, Red Lions, Blue Eagles, MAFCO and Chitipa United.
Their most recent league outing ended in a 2–1 defeat to Chitipa at Dedza Stadium, but the earlier 1–1 draw against Mighty Wanderers demonstrated their ability to frustrate teams competing near the top of the table.
Against Bullets
Saturday’s fixture will be the ninth league meeting between Bullets and Goshen City Dedza Dynamos.
The People’s Team have won four of the previous eight encounters, with Goshen City registering one victory and the remaining three ending in draws.
Bullets claimed a league double during Dynamos’ debut season in 2022, winning 1–0 at Balaka Stadium before completing a 2–1 victory in the reverse fixture at Kamuzu Stadium.
The Central Region side responded in 2023, earning a 2–2 draw in Blantyre before recording their only league victory over Bullets with a 1–0 result at Dedza Stadium.
Both meetings in 2024 ended 1–1. Bullets surrendered a first-half lead in Dedza before rescuing a point in the return fixture at Kamuzu Stadium with a late equaliser.
The People’s Team regained control of the fixture last season, completing another league double with a 1–0 victory in Dedza and a commanding 3–0 win in Blantyre.
The sides also met in the 2025/26 Castel Challenge Cup final at Bingu National Stadium on 21 February. Hassan Kajoke scored twice as Bullets defeated Goshen City 2–1 to retain the trophy, with Chikondi Mbeta Junior netting for the Central Region side.
Saturday’s fixture will be the first competitive meeting between the teams since that final and presents Bullets with an opportunity to record a third successive league victory over Goshen City and back-to-back wins at Dedza Stadium.
Key Players
Marko Chiwaya
Chiwaya remains one of Goshen City’s most influential attacking players despite the team’s difficult start to the campaign.
The young winger is comfortable in possession, carries the ball positively and has the pace to drive his side forward from wide areas.
His ability to attack defenders, create opportunities and offer a direct goal threat makes him one of the players Bullets will need to monitor closely.
Lughano Kaira
The Goshen City captain provides leadership, experience and physical presence at the heart of the defence.
Kaira has been a central figure for the Dedza-based side since their arrival in the top flight, helping organise the backline while also offering a threat from set pieces.
His strength in defensive duels and familiarity with high-profile encounters will be important as the hosts attempt to contain The People’s Team on Saturday.
Goshen City may enter the contest from the bottom end of the standings, but their history in this fixture and the demanding environment at Dedza Stadium underline the challenge awaiting Bullets.
The People’s Team will need to impose themselves, remain patient and produce a disciplined performance to secure maximum points in the Central Region.
