The Super League of Malawi (Sulom) announced on Monday that the 2020/21 TNM Super League season will get underway on November 28 and in the opening match Nyasa Big Bullets will host Blue Eagles at Kamuzu Stadium.
While revealing the fixtures for the first round, Sulom has scheduled eight matches for the opening weekend as Bullets are planning for the title defence.
The two teams will be meeting after sharing three points apiece last season, with Blue Eagles claiming a 2-1 win at Nankhaka in the opening round, before Bullets walloped the visitors 4-1 at Kamuzu Stadium in the second round.
Kalisto Pasuwa’s Bullets will be chasing a third consecutive title after bagging the 2018 and 2019 elite league titles.
Last season The People’s Team won the championship with 70 points, a point above city rivals Be Forward Wanderers.
The first round of the 2020/21 season, which was initially scheduled to start in March, but was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, will be staged from November 2020 to March 2021.
Bullets will be going into the new season without registering a league loss at home for the past seven seasons, on top of winning the title for a record 15 times.
Gearing up for the new season, Bullets played three friendly matches and won 1-0 in all games against Ntopwa, Kamuzu Barracks and MAFCO.
