Pasuwa’s pre-match interview

Nyasa Big Bullets head coach spoke to our media team on Friday ahead of two crucial fixtures in the 2020/21 TNM Super League at Karonga Stadium.

The People’s Team takes on Karonga United on Saturday, before facing off Chitipa United the next day, and these are fixtures the coach knows his side will have to be vigilant based on the previous visits to the Northern Region.

Bullets will be eager to bounce back from last week’s “disappointing” goalless draw with Blue Eagles in the opening fixture.

With less than 24 hours before the first game, Pasuwa told NBB media.

“These two games are very crucial to us. We need to put everything in place. Remember we have been talking about fitness and remember we have been staying home for six to seven months, so we need to start building up for the team to be good. We have been trying to manage the players so that each and every player can play in these two matches that are coming in a space of 48-hours and we hope for the best when we play these games. As Bullets, we will not underrate any team because it’s always crucial when playing these teams at their backyard.”

On adding four players to the side that drew 0-0 with Blue Eagles:

“It’s good to the team [to have Chiukepo Msowoya, Peter Banda, Luke Chima and Richard Chimbamba, who were out in the last game]. I have been talking about managing these players, but again I say to each and everybody who is in the team to show us that they want to play and that’s the time for one to say they are there for a place in the starting XI.”

Reflecting on last week’s “disappointing” result:

“We are in a marathon where we play 30 games. We shouldn’t look back to the two points we dropped last week. We have to look forward. We need also to be at our level best in order for us to collect those six points. We are also playing teams that have been training so we mustn’t say we have already collected points, that’s a negative attitude. We need to play our game for us to come out good.”

On injuries:

“On the 24 players [that we have traveled with], the only player who was on a light training was Zicco [Mkanda], but having assessed him, he is super fit to play.”
