Nyasa Big Bullets will begin their TNM Super League title defence with a home tie against cross-town rivals Mighty Wanderers at Kamuzu Stadium on March 19.
The Super League of Malawi on Monday released first-round fixtures for the 2022 campaign, with the Blantyre derby to be played on Match Day 1.
This will be the first time in more than a decade for the Blantyre city neighbours to meet in the opening fixture.
In the second week, Bullets will travel to Lilongwe to play Blue Eagles at a venue to be communicated as Nankhaka Stadium is not certified by the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) to host elite matches.
Bullets will then host Ekwendeni Hammers in Matchweek 3 of the top flight league, which The People’s Team will be looking to defend for a fourth consecutive year.
Kalisto Pasuwa’s men will then welcome Mafco FC at Kamuzu Stadium in fourth week, before travelling away to Karonga to play Karonga United.
Bullets will then play Civil Service United at home, Red Lions away in Balaka and Mighty Tigers away at Mpira Stadium in Chiwembe, before traveling to Lilongwe to face Silver Strikers on 21 May at Silver Stadium.
In 2020/21 season, Bullets opened their league campaign with a goalless draw at home against Blue Eagles, before proceeding to Karonga where they lost to Karonga United 0-1 and collected their first three points with a 0-2 victory over Chitipa United.
Bullets successfully defended the league with 62 points, four ahead of the second-placed Silver Strikers and seven points ahead of their bitter rivals Wanderers.
Over the weekend Pasuwa’s men successfully defended the Charity Shield when they defeated the Central Bankers 1-0 at Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday.
This week, Bullets will be travelling to Lilongwe for a two day Pamtsetse Charity Bonanza that will also feature Mighty Wanderers, Silver Strikers and Civil Service United at the Bingu National Stadium.
