FCB Nyasa Big Bullets have provided early team news ahead of Tuesday’s TNM Super League home fixture against Mafco FC at Kamuzu Stadium, just two days after advancing to the FDH Bank Cup semifinals.
Speaking to the media during Monday’s pre-match press conference, first assistant coach, Gilbert Chirwa, confirmed that Yankho Singo will miss the clash after sustaining a muscle injury in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Kamuzu Barracks in the FDH Bank Cup quarterfinal clash.
Singo, who started in defence, was withdrawn in the 68th minute and replaced by Aaron Chilipa after picking up the injury.
“Yankho pulled a muscle against KB, and he is definitely out of this match,” said Chirwa. “The rest of the players are fit and ready.”
The former Bullets defender also shared that Babatunde Adepoju, Chikumbutso Salima, and Innocent Nyasulu, who were rested for the cup tie, are all available for selection against The Soldiers tomorrow.
“We indeed rested some of the players — not just Babatunde and Salima, but also Innocent Nyasulu. This has been our approach since the start of the season. We rotate players to manage fatigue, especially in a long campaign,” he added.
Chirwa emphasized that the squad remains mentally prepared and physically ready despite the quick turnaround following the weekend fixture.
“We’ve started well after the break and the boys are in good spirits. The focus now is fully on Mafco, and we’re ready to fight for another important three points,” he stated.
The People’s Team head into Tuesday’s clash sitting top of the TNM Super League table with 46 points from 19 games, while Mafco are targeting a response from mid-table. Bullets will be looking to build on their momentum and strengthen their push for another league title.
Tickets for the Bullets vs Mafco fixture will be available on matchday only. Fans are encouraged to arrive early when gates open at 11:00 a.m. to secure their entry and rally behind the team.
