Bullets Reserves v Prison United shifted to Thursday

The ThumbsUp Southern Region Football League quarter-final return leg between Nyasa Big Bullets Reserves and Prison United, which was initially set to be played this afternoon, has been shifted to tomorrow at the same venue, Kamuzu Stadium.

Our youngsters won the first leg 2-0 at the Balaka Stadium last weekend and tomorrow afternoon they will be looking to finish off the tie. On the other hand, the visitors from the old capital city will be keen to turn things around with a win of a wider margin to progress to the semi-finals.

Should our youngsters win the revised midweek fixture tomorrow they will proceed to face Changalume Barracks, who beat the Mulanje-based outfit Fomo FC to earn their semi-final spot.

Team news

Despite the convincing victory away at Balaka Stadium last Sunday, the defending champions lost Chrispine Mapemba who was substituted during the halftime break after sustaining a calf injury as he scored our opener. As a result, the midfielder will not be available to face Prison United tomorrow.

Emmanuel Saviel missed the first leg with a thigh injury and will also miss tomorrow’s action.

Another player set to miss the return leg is Useni Asani, who is still on the sidelines with a broken foot.

Nonetheless, Bullets Reserves will be happy to welcome back the duo of Felix Demakude and Lyton Chinong’one, who missed the first leg through suspension.
