Frank Willard has fully returned to training with FCB Nyasa Big Bullets after spending nearly two months sidelined by a foot injury.
The 24-year-old midfielder, who recently committed to a new three-year contract with the club, joined Peter Mponda’s squad for a Tuesday morning session at Blantyre Sports Club.
He returns just in time for our opening TNM Super League clash against Silver Strikers, set to take place this Saturday at the Bingu National Stadium.
Willard suffered a navicular bone fracture during a training session in early February, about a week after the team regrouped to begin preparations for the 2025 season.
Head coach Peter Mponda hailed the timing of Willard’s return, emphasizing the boost it provides to the team ahead of the new season.
“It’s perfect timing. His return gives us more squad depth, which will be crucial as the fixture list becomes more demanding. It’s great to see him back in training,” Mponda told the club’s media.
Reflecting on his recovery after hie contract renewas last week, Willard shared: “Dealing with the injury was tough, especially as football is my livelihood. But I accepted it as part of the game, focused on my recovery, and now I’m ready to contribute to the new season.”
With Willard back on the team, the focus now shifts to the recovery efforts for Peter Banda and Chrispin Mapemba.
