I’ll Keep Working Hard – Musonda

Dominic Musonda marked a major milestone in his Bullets journey on Sunday, starting in the Airtel Top 8 final and helping The People’s Team lift the trophy — his first silverware since joining the club.

The 27-year-old Zambian left back, who signed with the Malawi giants in March 2025, was handed only his second start for the club, and what a stage it was — a sold-out Bingu National Stadium, a high-stakes showdown with Silver Strikers, and the pressure of a cup final. Musonda stepped up with confidence, composure, and a crucial penalty conversion in the shootout to help secure the 2025 title.

“I’m very happy. It was my second start, but to play in a big final like that, in front of a packed stadium, and go on to win my first trophy with the club—it means a lot to me. I’m thankful to the coaches and my teammates for trusting me and giving me the confidence to deliver.”

That confidence was on full display during the penalty shootout. After Hassan Kajoke missed the opening spotkick, Musonda stepped up with calmness and precision to convert Bullets’ second penalty, bringing the score to 1-1 and steadying the team in a tense moment.

“It’s a moment where you need to stay calm and do your job. I knew I had to focus and take responsibility. I’m glad it went in.”

Musonda made his competitive debut in June, featuring in a 3-0 TNM Super League win over Moyale Barracks, and has since quietly worked his way into contention by impressing the technical staff in training and reserve matches.

“I’ve been patient and focused. Every session has been a chance to learn and improve. When my time came, I just wanted to be ready—and I’m glad I was able to contribute to the win.”

His performance on Sunday showed maturity beyond his minutes at the club, helping Bullets keep a firm defensive line while dealing with Silver’s attacking threats.

Musonda also credited the support system around him — from teammates to coaching staff and the club’s supporters — for helping him settle and grow.

“This team welcomed me from day one. The environment pushes you to improve, and that’s helped me a lot. The fans were also incredible—playing in that kind of atmosphere and lifting the cup made it even more special.”

Now with a medal around his neck, Musonda says the focus is on consistency and earning more opportunities.

“This is just the start. I know how competitive it is at Bullets, and I want to keep earning my place through hard work. I’ll stay focused, keep giving my best, and hopefully win more with this club.”
