Maule, let’s fill Bingu for FCB at 30!

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets are calling on Maule faithful and football-loving Malawians to pack Bingu National Stadium this Sunday, 29 June, as we take on Silver Strikers in a special clash to celebrate First Capital Bank’s 30th anniversary.

This isn’t just another fixture—it’s a celebration of football, legacy and purpose. The match honours our headline sponsor, First Capital Bank, whose partnership with The People’s Team began in 2023 and continues to drive growth both on and off the pitch.

The official FCB 30th Anniversary Trophy was unveiled during a press briefing held in Blantyre on Wednesday, with Bullets Chief Executive Officer Albert Chigoga describing the moment as a proud milestone for the club and its sponsor.

“What a moment to be part of this anniversary. It’s been a remarkable journey since this relationship came into reality,” said Chigoga. “We encourage all Bullets supporters and football-loving Malawians to come out in large numbers to support the team and the bank on this special day.”

Sunday’s match will not be a mere ceremonial affair. With a trophy and bragging rights on the line—and a rematch set for 12 July in the Airtel Top 8 final at the same venue—fans can expect an intense contest between two of the country’s football giants.

Bullets head into the match with momentum, having already defeated The Bankers 1-0 in the TNM Super League opener back in April, courtesy of a second-half goal from Babatunde Adepoju.

Kick-off is scheduled for 15:00 CAT, but the festivities begin in the morning with a host of pre-match activities lined up to mark FCB’s three-decade journey of excellence and community impact.

As part of the celebrations, proceeds from the match will be donated to the Football Association of Malawi’s Luwinga Inclusive Academy in Mzuzu, a youth initiative focused on inclusive football development.

In addition to sponsoring Bullets, First Capital Bank continues to play a key role in developing football talent through its sponsorship of the FCB Under-20 League—formerly known as the First Merchant Bank Under-20 League, which has produced many of Malawi’s current top talents, including Bullets stars Blessings Mpokera, Chawanangwa Gumbo, Chikumbutso Salima, Wongani Lungu and Yamikani Mologeni, among others currently shining in the country’s elite division.

Tickets for the match are selling in advance at MK3,000 for standard entry and MK15,000 for VIP. On match day, standard tickets will sell at MK5,000, while VIP access will be available at MK20,000. Corporate box tickets are priced at MK25,000.

FCB customers enjoy 50 per cent off when purchasing with FCB cards at any First Capital Bank branch in Lilongwe.
