New FCB Nyasa Big Bullets head coach Wedson Nyirenda says Sean McBrams will get his chance as he continues assessing the squad.
Nyirenda was asked about the winger during Thursday’s pre-match press conference, with the 22-year-old yet to feature for The People’s Team this season.
He missed pre-season preparations due to a personal trip to South Africa and, on his return, was placed on the same conditioning programme as the rest of the squad before being considered for selection.
Responding to the question, Nyirenda said he was still getting to know the full squad and stressed that every player would have a chance to prove himself.
“I have only been here a short time and I am still assessing all the players,” said Nyirenda.
“We have 31 players and everyone will get an opportunity to show what they can do. Sean is a good player and, like everyone else, he will be given his chance.”
The head coach added that part of the process is finding where each player can best serve the team.
“Sometimes a new coach sees a player differently and believes he can be more effective in another position. Those are some of the things we are looking at.”
McBrams signed his first professional contract with Bullets on 29 March 2024 after previously captaining Kalibu Academy and spending time on professional trials in Italy and Spain in 2022.
He scored a memorable long-range goal against Kamuzu Barracks on 24 May 2025.
As Bullets continue preparations for Monday afternoon’s FDH Bank Premiership match against visiting Masters FC at Mpira Stadium, McBrams remains among the players working to earn a place in Nyirenda’s plans.
