FCB Nyasa Big Bullets head coach Wedson Nyirenda has provided a squad update ahead of Sunday’s FDH Bank Premiership encounter against Kamuzu Barracks at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.
The People’s Team head into the Matchweek 7 fixture with a largely healthy squad, with Nyirenda expressing satisfaction with the condition of the group ahead of the trip to the Capital City.
“It is a full house and all the players are ready for the match. They are looking good.
“Only goalkeeper Maclean Mwale, forward Dastan Banda and defender Edward Thengo are back and have been doing rehabilitation training this week.
“We just need to be careful in how we handle and manage these players regarding their return to action,” said Nyirenda.
Bullets therefore head into the Matchweek 7 fixture with the majority of the squad available for selection.
Nyirenda was particularly encouraged by the progress made by Banda, revealing that the forward believes he has fully recovered from the ankle injury that has kept him sidelined.
“With Banda, I was talking with him this morning and he told me he’s completely healed [from his ankle problem], so we just have to be cautious how we bring him in.
“We don’t have to rush him into the thick of things because the intensity has just gone up and the pitch is not so smooth and he can twist his ankle again.”
The People’s Team travel to Lilongwe on Sunday seeking a return to winning ways when they face Kamuzu Barracks at Civo Stadium.
