FCB Nyasa Big Bullets have confirmed the starting XI for this afternoon’s TNM Super League second-round opener against Chitipa United at Chitipa Stadium, with Innocent Nyasulu returning in goal and Maxwell Phodo leading the line.
Nyasulu, who missed last weekend’s FDH Bank Cup tie against Chilumba Barracks, is back between the posts. In front of him, Khumbo Banda keeps his place after impressing on his debut in the 5-0 cup victory.
Defenders Blessings Mpokera and Andrew Jovinala, who were sidelined through knocks, are also back to full fitness and slot straight into the starting XI. They join Henry Chiwaya and captain Frank Willard, who once again anchors the midfield alongside Paul Master and Wongani Lungu.
In attack, Phodo spearheads the frontline with Peter Banda and Chikumbutso Salima on either flank, adding pace and creativity as Bullets aim to make a strong statement in the North.
On the bench, Richard Chimbamba, Yamikani Mologeni, Yankho Singo, Chawanangwa Gumbo, Mike Mkwate, Lameck Gamphani, Ephraim Kondowe, Hassan Kajoke and Babatunde Adepoju are available for Peter Mponda should he call for reinforcements.
This will be Bullets’ second game at Chitipa Stadium in a week, following last Sunday’s emphatic 5-0 win over Chilumba Barracks in the FDH Bank Cup Round of 32. With the knockout fixture safely navigated, focus now shifts back to league duty as The People’s Team look to begin the second round with victory.
Bullets sit second in the standings with 34 points from 15 games, just one behind leaders Mighty Wanderers, and know that every point will be vital in keeping the title race alive.
