FCB Nyasa Big Bullets return to FDH Bank Premiership action on Sunday when we welcome Blue Eagles to Mpira Stadium for our opening fixture of the second round.
The People’s Team resume the 2026/27 campaign at 14:30, more than a month after signing off the first round with a commanding 5-0 victory over Silver Strikers.
During the midseason break, Wedson Nyirenda’s men stepped up preparations with victories over Changalume Barracks and Extreme FC, while also using the two outings to integrate September arrivals Sheku Sheriff, Tinaye Tsimba and Alihaji Mnjale into the squad.
All three featured across the friendlies, with Mnjale and Tsimba scoring their first Bullets goals in the 4-2 win over Extreme as the new additions continued to build minutes ahead of the second round.
With the midseason programme complete, attention now returns to the Premiership, where Bullets begin the second half of the campaign just one point behind leaders Blue Eagles.
The victory over Silver extended Bullets’ unbeaten league run to four matches, all without conceding, following wins over Chitipa United and Karonga United and a goalless draw away to Luanar Mitundu.
Ephraim Kondowe struck a hat-trick against Silver, with Wongani Lungu and Misheck Billiat also on target as Bullets finished the first round with 30 points from 15 matches.
Nyirenda’s side recorded eight wins, six draws and one defeat, scoring 20 goals and conceding seven while keeping eight clean sheets.
Blue Eagles finished the first round at the summit on 31 points after beating Mighty Wanderers 2-1 at Nankhaka Stadium in their final fixture before the break.
The Area 30 side collected 31 points from 15 matches, with 10 wins, one draw and four defeats.
Sunday will be the second meeting between the sides this season after the reverse fixture at Civo Stadium ended 1-1.
With only a point separating the top two, victory at Mpira Stadium would take Bullets above Blue Eagles and mark a strong start to the second half of the campaign.
