Bullets’ wait for a first home match in Blantyre this season will continue after Saturday’s FDH Bank Premiership fixture against Masters FC is moved to Joyce Chitsulo Stadium in Mwanza.
FCB Nyasa Big Bullets’ FDH Bank Premiership encounter against Masters FC will now be played at Joyce Chitsulo Stadium on Saturday.
The People’s Team head into the fixture on the back of Sunday’s 2-1 victory over Kamuzu Barracks at Civo Stadium, a result that extended our unbeaten start to the league campaign.
The match had initially been earmarked for Mpira Stadium following our request to bring the fixture to Blantyre, with the Super League of Malawi announcing the venue change on Sunday.
A further adjustment to the schedule followed after it emerged that Mpira Stadium would not be available to host the fixture on Saturday.
As a result, supporters in Blantyre will have to wait a little longer to watch Wedson Nyirenda’s side play a competitive fixture in the city this season.
Under the Club Licensing regulations, Bullets registered Kamuzu Stadium, Joyce Chitsulo Stadium and Bingu National Stadium as approved home venues for the 2026/27 campaign.
But with Kamuzu Stadium currently unavailable, the record Malawian champions are yet to host a home fixture in their home city this season.
Bullets currently sit fourth in the FDH Bank Premiership standings with 13 points and have played three of their opening seven fixtures in Mwanza, while the remainder have been staged in Lilongwe.
Our most recent match in Mwanza ended in a 1-1 draw against Moyale Barracks on 31 May, with George Chaomba rescuing a point for The People’s Team through a stoppage-time equaliser.
The club had hoped to make its first appearance in Blantyre this season on Saturday, but attention will now turn to Mwanza, where Bullets will look to build on the victory over Kamuzu Barracks when they face Masters.
