FCB Nyasa Big Bullets travel to Civo Stadium in Lilongwe on Sunday to face MAFCO as we look to build on our winning start to the FDH Bank Premiership second round.
The Matchweek 17 encounter is our first away assignment since the midseason break, with Bullets heading to the capital after reclaiming top spot against Blue Eagles.
Wedson Nyirenda’s side secured a 2-0 victory at Mpira Stadium on Sunday, courtesy of second-half goals from Chawanangwa Gumbo and Ephraim Kondowe.
Gumbo opened the scoring before Kondowe converted from the penalty spot six minutes later, taking his league tally to ten goals.
The win extended our unbeaten league run to five matches, all without conceding, and lifted Bullets to 33 points from 16 games.
We hold a one-point advantage over Mighty Wanderers, who beat Silver Strikers 1-0 on Saturday. Sunday’s clean sheet was our ninth of the campaign, with just seven goals conceded.
MAFCO come into the meeting looking for a response to their 2-0 defeat away to Chitipa United on Saturday.
The Salima-based soldiers occupy 14th place with 13 points, leaving them in the relegation zone ahead of Matchweek 17.
Bullets edged the first-round meeting 1-0 in our season opener at Joyce Chitsulo Stadium in Mwanza, on a historic day that brought elite football to the western border district.
That was the first of three senior matches we played at the ground before its temporary closure in June.
Sunday’s return fixture presents an opportunity to complete the league double over MAFCO and secure another three points on the road, with the hosts seeking a result to strengthen their survival bid.
Further build-up to Sunday’s encounter, including team news, opposition analysis, match officials and the full match preview, will be available throughout the week on the club’s official platforms.
