Inside Bullets: What’s In Store This Week

It’s shaping up to be an exciting week for FCB Nyasa Big Bullets as Maule return to action across multiple competitions.

Maule fans have plenty to look forward to this week, with action lined up across the Women’s league, the Castel Challenge Cup and the youth ranks as our teams take to the pitch once again.

Women: Set to Resume Action After League Break

The Bullets Women were not in action over the weekend due to the NBM Women’s Premiership break, but remain firmly in the top-three conversation. Maggie Chombo’s side currently sits third with 31 points from 14 matches and will be looking to pick up where they left off when they return to competitive action this Thursday.

Maule Ladies host Civil Service Ladies at Mpira Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 14:30, as they look to build momentum with the league campaign entering a decisive phase.

First Team: Castel Challenge Cup Quarterfinal Spot at Stake

Gilbert Chirwa’s men return to action on Saturday in the Castel Challenge Cup Round of 16, taking on Ndirande Stars at Kamuzu Stadium with kick-off at 14:30.

Bullets come into the encounter following a commanding 3–0 win over Songwe Border United in the Round of 32, secured away in Karonga. Maxwell Phodo’s clinical hat-trick proved decisive and set the tone for Maule’s progress in the competition.

With a place in the quarterfinals on the line, the team will be eager to maintain momentum and continue their pursuit of another silverware.

Under-19: Looking to Bounce Back at Kamuzu

Bullets U19s were tested last weekend, suffering a narrow 1–0 defeat to Agumbala FC in the Blantyre District Youth Football League. Despite a spirited showing, Bullets were unable to find an equaliser, leaving the young side third on the log with 47 points from 25 matches, while still holding a game in hand. The result extended a three-match winless run, one the team will be eager to end.

Attention now turns to Saturday’s fixture against Extending Hope at Kamuzu Stadium, with kick-off set for 9:30, as the young Maule look to respond positively and strengthen their push for a strong finish to the season.

Reserves: Off-Season After Strong Campaign

Meanwhile, the Reserves are enjoying a well-earned break after concluding their 2025 ThumbsUp Southern Region Football League campaign in third position. The finish reflected consistency and growth over the course of the season and underlined the strength of the club’s development pathway.

With three teams in action this week across different competitions, it promises to be another engaging period for Maule supporters. From the Women resuming their league campaign, the First Team chasing cup progress, to the Under-19s continuing their development, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets remain active and competitive across all levels.
