Mayamiko Kanjere will take charge as centre referee when FCB Nyasa Big Bullets face Goshen City Dedza Dynamos in Saturday’s Castel Challenge Cup final at Bingu National Stadium.
With silverware and continental qualification at stake, Maule will be aiming to secure their second Castel Challenge Cup title since 2023 and claim what would be the club’s 38th major trophy.
Referee: Mayamiko Kanjere
Kanjere, one of the 16 Malawian referees who recently received a FIFA badge, is a seasoned match official. In the current season, which concludes on 21 February, he has officiated three games involving The People’s Team. His most recent assignment was the goalless draw against Mighty Tigers in the TNM Super League on 20 December.
Assistant Referee 1: Lameck Phiri
Phiri returns to handle his second Bullets match in this Castel Challenge Cup campaign after running the line in our 2-0 victory over Mighty Tigers in January, a result that secured our semifinal berth against Mzuzu City Hammers.
He has officiated several high-profile matches involving The People’s Team, including semifinal and final assignments in recent seasons. Among them was the 2025 Airtel Top 8 final against Silver Strikers, which Bullets won 4-3 on penalties to clinch our first trophy of the season and a third cup in the competition.
Assistant Referee 2: Evance Musonda
Musonda last officiated a match involving Maule at Bingu National Stadium when we defeated Kamuzu Barracks in the 2024 Airtel Top 8 semifinal. Notably, Saturday’s reserve referee, Nkhakananga, was the centre referee for that encounter.
Fourth Official: Zebron Lengani
Lengani has already handled six matches involving The People’s Team in the 2025/26 season, serving three times as centre referee and three times as fourth official. His most recent Bullets assignment came in October during the 3-0 TNM Super League defeat to Mighty Wanderers in the Blantyre derby.
Reserve Referee: Godfrey Nkhakananga
Nkhakananga, a seasoned official with both domestic and international experience, will serve as reserve referee on Saturday — marking the first time this role has been used in a local football match in Malawi.
He has handled numerous matches involving The People’s Team, with his most recent assignment being our quarterfinal victory over Mighty Tigers in this competition.
Match Commissioner: Goodall Chinjoka
Chinjoka will serve as match commissioner, overseeing the overall organisation of the fixture and ensuring compliance with competition regulations. While he has not been involved in many Bullets matches, he was part of the officiating team that handled our 2025 Airtel Top 8 quarterfinal second-leg clash against Creck Sporting Club at Nankhaka Stadium.
Referee Assessor: Michael Makoto
Makoto returns to assess a Bullets fixture for the first time since 2023, when he evaluated our 3-0 victory over Civil Service United in the Round of 16 of this competition at Kamuzu Stadium. That campaign ended in historic fashion, with The People’s Team going on to win the inaugural Castel Challenge Cup and complete a memorable quadruple.
