Nyasa Big Bullets resumed training Wednesday morning to start preparations for Sunday’s TNM Super League match against Red Lions at Kamuzu Stadium.
Coach Kalisto Pasuwa gave his troops a day to rest after travelling over 800 kilometers back to Blantyre from Karonga where The People’s Team played two league matches within 48 hours against Karonga United, 1-0, on Saturday and Chitipa United, 0-2, on Sunday.
Bullets traveled from the North back to the South on Monday.
Pasuwa had almost the whole squad in training on Wednesday, except Stanley Billiat, who is still with the Malawi U-20 national team for the 2020 Cosafa Championship currently happening in South Africa.
It was ball work for the rest of the squad, but Chimango Kayira, who is undergoing rehabilitation for a knee injury, as well as Patrick Phiri and Misheck Seleman had separate sessions, with the two still working on their fitness levels.
Sankhani Mkandawire, Dalitso Sailesi and Gift Jana, who were left out from the 24-member squad that traveled to Karonga due to low fitness levels after recovering from injuries, also had full training sessions with the other boys.
Coming from a loss and a win in Karonga, Bullets will face the Zomba-based Malawi Defense Force side, Red Lions, in the fourth TNM Super League fixture as Pasuwa is looking forward to nothing but a win for his team which is fourth on the log table with four points.
The two sides will be meeting after close to two years. They last met on December 15, 2018 in a Super League encounter at Balaka Stadium where the soldiers lost 0-3 and were relegated to the ThumbsUp Southern Region Football Association Premier Division, before earning a promotion back into the top tier last season.
Red Lions are currently top of the table having registered two wins and a draw from three games, accumulating seven points.
