Bullets Reserves in Mchinji for Aubrey Dimba trophy

Nyasa Big Bullets Reserves arrived in Mchinji on Saturday afternoon for the Aubrey Dimba Bonanza Round of 16 tie against St. Gabriel Medicals on Sunday.

The two teams will battle for a place in the last eight at Aubrey Dimba Ground from 14:30 hours and this will be the first Central Region outing for Enos Chatama’s side, which recently won the ThumbsUp Southern Region Football Association League championship.

Chatama told club media soon after the team finished training at the Aubrey Dimba Ground that competition will give his side an opportunity to play against Central Region teams as one way of preparing for the upcoming Nyasa Capital Finances League.

“It’s a good idea to take part in the competition after being inactive for weeks since we finished league matches and since we are waiting for our fixtures in the Nyasa Capital Finances League, this will be used as a platform to prepare for the new league.

“It will also give us an opportunity to assess our players who haven’t been playing for some weeks and to see how Central Region teams play since this will be our first time to play them,” stated Chatama.

Chatama, who has also guided his side to the Powertex Top 8 championship this year, said he was not targeting anything big apart from winning on Sunday against a side he has described as a ‘good team’.

“It’s a good side and we have been hearing good stories about them, but we are here to win and possibly progress to the next round of the competition. We are focusing on Sunday’s match and we will discuss our targets once we cross to the other side.”

The match is expected to attract a lot of football and Bullets fanatics from around Mchinji as this will be the first time The People’s Team will play in the district.

Chatama has traveled with 22 squad members, with Chikumbutso Salima as the only regular player missing the trip due to an injury.
