Mkwate back at Polokwane

Share

Mike Mkwate is back in South Africa where he has rejoined GladAfrica Championship club Polokwane City.

The 23-year-old central midfielder arrived in Polokwane on Friday to reunite with the Limpopo province outfit.

Mkwate, who signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the club in February, returned to Nyasa Big Bullets on loan after Polokwane had missed the deadline to register him before the closure of the International Transfer Window.

His first match was against Be Forward Wanderers on 1 May, 2021, before missing Bullets’ trip to TN Stars due to a knock.

He featured against Silver Strikers, TN Stars at home, Blue Eagles and Ntopwa FC.

During his brief stay, Mkwate scored one goal for Bullets in the 2-1 win over Civil Sporting Club last month.

His final game was supposed to be the Blantyre derby, but the fixture was postponed after Bullets contributed eight players to the Malawi national team squad that was in South Africa for the 2021 COSAFA Cup.

Mkwate played for Bullets for five years after completing a move from Wizards FC in 2016.
