Starting XI: Kamuzu Barracks vs Bullets

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets head coach Wedson Nyirenda has named his starting XI for Sunday’s FDH Bank Premiership encounter against Kamuzu Barracks at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.

The fixture marks Nyirenda’s first league match in charge of The People’s Team, who head into the contest looking to extend their unbeaten start to the season and return to winning ways.

Bullets make two changes to the side that started last weekend’s 1-1 draw against Ekhaya FC in the Airtel Top 8 quarterfinal first leg, with Yamikani Mologeni and Ephraim Kondowe coming into the lineup.

Both players made second-half appearances against Ekhaya and earn starting roles this afternoon.

Mologeni returns to the starting XI after earning praise from Nyirenda during the coach’s first week in charge. The Zambian tactician recently described the Bullets Reserves graduate as “a machine” and “a big player” following a series of impressive displays on the training ground.

The duo replace Chawanangwa Gumbo and Hassan Kajoke, who are both named among the substitutes.

Innocent Nyasulu retains his place in goal behind a back four of Mologeni, Blessings Mpokera, Emmanuel Kaunga and Prince Chiumia.

Paul Master and Wongani Lungu continue in midfield, while Clever Kalambo, George Chaomba and Maxwell Phodo provide support to Kondowe in attack.

There are also returns to the matchday squad for Yankho Singo, Henry Chiwaya and Mike Mkwate.

For Chiwaya, it is his first inclusion in a Bullets matchday squad in five weeks.

Nyirenda also has Kajoke, Misheck Billiat and Peter Banda among the attacking options available from the bench as The People’s Team seek to maintain their unbeaten start to the campaign.

Bullets will be aiming to secure Nyirenda’s first league victory and build momentum in the early stages of the season.
