FCB Nyasa Big Bullets return to FDH Bank Premiership action against Chitipa United at Mpira Stadium on Sunday, looking to respond to our first league defeat of the season and remain firmly in the title race.
The People’s Team return to competitive action on Sunday afternoon, hosting Chitipa United in a Matchweek 12 encounter at Mpira Stadium.
The fixture comes two weeks after we suffered our first league defeat of the campaign, going down 1-0 to Goshen City Dedza Dynamos at Dedza Stadium.
Following last weekend’s Airtel Top 8 semifinal break, Wedson Nyirenda’s side will be looking to regain momentum on our return to league action.
Standing in our way is an in-form Chitipa side unbeaten in its last five league matches and only four points behind us in the standings.

The visitors are unbeaten in five league matches, with their only defeat of the campaign coming in a 4-0 loss to Mighty Wanderers at home.

Nyirenda has received a welcome boost with Blessings Mpokera and Prince Chiumia returning from injury. Both players are back in full training and available for selection.
Paul Master, George Chaomba and Chrispin Mapemba remain unavailable as they continue their recoveries.

Nyirenda, who was away when Bullets suffered the defeat to Goshen City Dedza Dynamos, says he returned to find a group determined to correct the shortcomings from that performance.
“After coming back, I found that the result was not what we were looking for. We lost to Dedza Dynamos 1-0, and it was a setback for us. We have made a lot of corrections, and this week we have looked very sharp.”
The head coach believes the two-week interval between league fixtures has given his technical team valuable time to work closely with the players ahead of Sunday’s return to action.
“It gave us more time to rectify the mistakes. The two weeks that we have had before the next game have given us more time to check on every player and conduct one-on-one sessions. This break has given us more time.”
Nyirenda has also been encouraged by the response he has seen from the players in training.
“I am seeing a very hungry team, a very angry team determined to rectify the mistake they made in Dedza.”
Despite Bullets’ strong historical record against Chitipa, the head coach expects another difficult assignment against opponents who have built considerable momentum.
“As usual, every team treats a match against us like a final.”
