The People’s Team will look to secure successive league victories for the first time in six weeks when we face Karonga United on Sunday.
Karonga Stadium provides the setting for FCB Nyasa Big Bullets’ first Northern Region assignment of the 2026/27 campaign, with Karonga United awaiting in Matchweek 13 of the FDH Bank Premiership.
The fixture follows last weekend’s 2-0 victory over Chitipa United, secured through late goals from Blessings Mpokera and Clever Kalambo at Mpira Stadium.
That result moved Bullets to 23 points from 12 matches, level with third-placed Mighty Wanderers and two behind second-placed Blue Eagles.
Silver Strikers strengthened their position at the summit on Saturday with a 3-0 victory over Ekhaya FC, moving onto 28 points and opening a five-point advantage over fourth-placed Bullets.
Second-placed Blue Eagles host Civil Service United, while third-placed Wanderers travel to Kamuzu Barracks, adding further weight to our pursuit of maximum points in Karonga.
The hosts enter the contest in 12th position with 12 points, but their record at home offers a clear warning against judging the challenge solely by the standings.

Assistant coach Heston Munthali expects a demanding contest and insists Karonga’s position in the standings will not influence Bullets’ approach.
“Any team that faces Bullets prepares very well, and we know it will not be easy to face Karonga at Karonga Stadium.
“Our preparations have been very good this week. Everyone is putting up a strong fight to earn a place in the team, and we hope to carry the day.”
With the title race closely contested, Munthali says the group remains focused on controlling its own performance rather than being distracted by results elsewhere.
“Our focus is on ourselves, how we prepare and how we approach each game. What other teams do is beyond our control and not our concern.
“Our emphasis has been on ensuring that the players understand the importance of this trip and the significance of securing a positive result.”
