FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Women made it three wins from three in the NBM Women’s Premiership with a 3-1 victory over FACT Ladies at Nankhaka Stadium in Lilongwe on Wednesday.
Vanessa Issa opened the scoring before the break, while Shalon Dzimau and Mary Chabvinda struck after half-time to put Maggie Chombo’s side in control.
Evelyn Dallasi pulled one back late for the hosts, but Bullets held on to move to nine points from three matches.
Issa breaks the deadlock
Bullets made the brighter start, with Mary Chabvinda testing the FACT goalkeeper in the third minute after being found by Shalon Dzimau.
Chabvinda was involved again seven minutes later when Carlo Mlenzo played her through, but the hosts recovered to prevent her from getting a shot away.
The home side gradually grew into the contest and gained more control in midfield. Chombo responded in the 24th minute, bringing on Linda Nyangu for Swemma John, while FACT introduced Freedah Gonondo for Ruth Zelefati in the 35th minute.
Bullets then found the breakthrough. Vanessa Issa reacted quickest after the goalkeeper parried the initial effort, finishing the rebound in the 36th minute.
The hosts pushed for an equaliser before the interval, but Bullets remained organised to take their lead into the break.

Dzimau doubles the advantage
Bullets returned with renewed intent and Chombo made a triple change in the 61st minute, bringing on Ireen Mbesa, Tadala James and Leah Mussa for Carlo Mlenzo, Florida Safilodi and Chimwemwe Sapangwa.
Four minutes later, the visitors extended their lead. Chabvinda’s free-kick was parried by the goalkeeper after Esnart Layisani fouled Linda Nyangu, and Shalon Dzimau was on hand to convert the rebound.
Chabvinda seals the win
Chabvinda added a third in the 71st minute, curling a superb free-kick beyond the goalkeeper after another foul on Nyangu.
Dzimau made way for Ulemu Daiti in the 82nd minute, with Issa booked a minute later for a high leg.
The hosts reduced the deficit in the 89th minute when Evelyn Dallasi capitalised on a defensive error, but Bullets managed the closing stages to secure the points.
Elsewhere, Silver Strikers Ladies also maintained their perfect start on Wednesday, beating MDF Lioness 3-0 at Civo Stadium. Both sides now have nine points and a +6 goal difference after three matches, with Silver ahead on goals scored.
