The People’s Team closed the FDH Bank Premiership first round with a commanding win over Silver Strikers, while Bullets Women finished fourth in the Mayor’s Bonanza.
Wedson Nyirenda’s side signed off the first round of the FDH Bank Premiership in emphatic fashion, thrashing Silver Strikers 5-0 at Mpira Stadium on Saturday.
Elsewhere, Bullets Women finished fourth in the Mayor’s Bonanza after losing to Mighty Wanderers Queens in the third-place play-off, while the Under-19s were held to a 1-1 draw by Rams United.
The Reserves had no fixture as their SRFA FINCA Region Division One campaign took a short break, while Oscar Petro helped Civil Service United to victory over Kamuzu Barracks.
Eight Bullets players also earned provisional Malawi U-20 call-ups ahead of the COSAFA U-20 Championship in Mozambique.

Ephraim Kondowe led the rout with a hat-trick as Bullets produced a dominant performance against the league leaders.
The result moved Bullets to 30 points from 15 matches as they headed into the first-round break on strong momentum.
Reserves
Bullets Reserves had no game over the weekend and remain third in the SRFA FINCA Region Division One standings with 28 points from 13 matches.
The Reserves return to action on Saturday against Mighty Wanderers Reserve as they continue their outstanding first-round fixtures.
Ekhaya Reserve lead the standings with 33 points from 14 games, while Liberty FC are second on 30 points.
Bullets also have their fixture against The Boyz outstanding as they look to close the gap at the top.
Women
Bullets Women finished fourth in the Mayor’s Bonanza after suffering a 2-1 defeat to Mighty Wanderers Queens in the third-place play-off at Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday.
Bullets fought back late in the match but could not complete the comeback, with Wanderers holding on to secure third place.
Mary Chavinda won the Golden Boot after scoring nine goals in three matches, including eight in Bullets’ 12-0 quarter-final victory over Chilomoni Ladies.
Bullets will now turn their attention to preparations for the delayed NBM Women’s Championship, with FAM yet to announce a kick-off date.
Under-19
Bullets Under-19 were held to a 1-1 draw by Rams United at Kamuzu Stadium on Monday.
Yamikani Fodya’s side shared the points in another competitive FCB Katswiri Under-19 League encounter, following their first defeat of the campaign against Agumbala Stars.

Oscar Petro started for Civil Service United in their 1-0 victory over Kamuzu Barracks, completing the entire match for The Servants.
The midfielder continues to gain valuable minutes in the FDH Bank Premiership after joining Civil Service United on loan from the Reserves.
Eight Bullets players earn Malawi U-20 call-ups
Prince Chiumia, Kondwani Tebulo, Madalitso Safuli, Misheck Billiat, Clever Kalambo, Clifford Chisale, Cedric Maxwell and Felix Jalasi have been named in Malawi’s provisional U-20 squad for the COSAFA U-20 Championship in Mozambique.
The tournament runs from 18 to 27 September and will also serve as a CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
