Caroline Mulenzo has claimed the HTD Women’s Player of the Month for January.
The FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Women midfielder’s exceptional performances were key to Maule Ladies’ strong finish in the NBM Women’s Premiership.
In the final games of the season, the 19-year-old was entrusted with the captain’s armband by coach Maggie Chombo, a clear sign of her growing influence and leadership within the team.
Her presence in the heart of midfield was evident across three league matches last month, in which Bullets recorded one victory and two narrow defeats.
Despite mixed results, Mulenzo’s consistency, leadership, and work rate set her apart, earning her recognition as the league’s top performer for January.
Operating as the link between defence and attack, she controlled the tempo of play with maturity. Her ability to break up opposition attacks, distribute accurately, and drive the team forward provided balance and stability in Bullets’ setup during crucial encounters.
Mulenzo’s performances were instrumental in helping the team remain competitive in the closing stages of the season. The team ultimately secured a respectable fourth-place finish in the NBM Women’s Premiership.
Her excellent form in January also earned her a place in the Malawi Under-20 squad for the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup preliminary qualifiers against Guinea-Bissau. She was on the bench as the first leg, played last Saturday, ended in a 1-1 draw away in Bissau, with the return leg scheduled for this weekend at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.
The club congratulates Carol on her well-deserved recognition as the January HTD Women’s Player of the Month.
