Nyirenda nominated for June Coach of the Month award

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets head coach Wedson Nyirenda has been nominated for the FDH Bank Premiership Coach of the Month award for June following an impressive start to his tenure with The People’s Team.

The 59-year-old is among four coaches shortlisted for the monthly accolade after guiding Bullets to maximum points from their two league fixtures during the month, maintaining a perfect league record since taking charge.

Nyirenda began his league campaign with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Kamuzu Barracks before leading Bullets to a convincing 2-0 win over Creck Sporting Club. The team scored four goals and conceded just once across the two matches to continue its positive momentum in the FDH Bank Premiership.

Since arriving at the club in June, the Zambian tactician has quickly instilled his ideas, with Bullets producing disciplined displays at both ends of the pitch while climbing the league standings.

The Super League of Malawi announced the four-man shortlist on Saturday, recognising coaches who guided their respective teams to positive results during June, a month in which each side played two league fixtures.

Joining Nyirenda on the shortlist are Enos Chatama of Ekhaya, Abbas Makawa of Civil Service United and Peter Mgangira of Silver Strikers.

The nomination is an early recognition of Nyirenda’s positive impact at Bullets and the encouraging start he has made since his appointment.

Everyone at FCB Nyasa Big Bullets congratulates Coach Nyirenda on his well-deserved nomination and wishes him every success in the awards.
