Babatunde Adepoju, Chikumbutso Salima, and Blessings Mpokera have been named the inaugural winners of the HTD Player of the Month Awards for April, May, and June, respectively, following their exceptional performances for FCB Nyasa Big Bullets across domestic competitions.
April: Babatunde Adepoju
Babatunde, who currently leads the TNM Super League goal-scoring chart with seven goals, kicked off the campaign in sensational form.
The Nigerian striker netted three goals in April, beginning with the match-winner against Silver Strikers in a 1-0 season opener. He followed up with a goal in the 4-1 win over Creck Sporting Club and rounded off the month by getting on the scoresheet in a 7-0 rout of Songwe Border United.
May: Chikumbutso Salima
In May, midfielder Chikumbutso Salima played a crucial role in Bullets’ midfield engine room, showcasing both attacking flair and work rate.
He scored the decisive goal in the 1-0 away win at Dedza Dynamos, assisted twice in the 3-0 victory over Chitipa United, and capped off the month with both a goal and an assist in the 4-0 demolition of Kamuzu Barracks at home.
June: Blessings Mpokera
Defender Blessings Mpokera was a rock at the back in June and collected multiple Man of the Match awards during the month.
He was outstanding in the TNM Super League fixture against Mighty Tigers, helping secure a clean sheet and a 2-0 win with goals from Hassan Kajoke and Babatunde. His standout display came in the Airtel Top 8 semifinal, where he was again named Man of the Match in Bullets’ hard-fought 2-1 victory over Karonga United, securing a spot in the final.
The HTD Player of the Month Awards, unveiled on Tuesday, 15 July, recognise outstanding contributions from FCB Nyasa Big Bullets players across the First Team, Reserves and Women’s Team, with presentations taking place monthly as part of a partnership with HTD Limited.
