Friendly Match: Manzo Utd 0-2 Bullets Reserves

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Reserves delivered a dominant performance to outclass Manzo United 2-0 in a friendly match at Chaima Primary School Ground in Kasungu on Sunday.

Right from the opening whistle, the game was electric, with Bullets showcasing their attacking prowess to claim a well-earned victory.

First-Half Action

The match burst into life within minutes, as Bullets quickly took control. Issah Felix and Enos Henderman both found themselves with prime chances inside the opening ten minutes but failed to capitalize, allowing Manzo United some early relief.

The home team struggled to handle Bullets’ relentless pressure, and in the 19th minute, the breakthrough came. A silky team move, initiated by midfield maestro Tadala Masina, tore through Manzo United’s defense. Masina linked up seamlessly with Kondwani Tebulo, who set up Felix to slot the ball expertly into the net, sparking wild celebrations from the Bullets’ bench.

The opening goal boosted the visitors’ confidence as they dominated possession and intensified their control of the game. Tebulo, the provider for the first goal, turned scorer in the 31st minute. A poor clearance by Manzo United goalkeeper Elia Nayenje landed straight at Masina’s feet, who delivered a perfect cross for Tebulo to tap into an unguarded net, doubling the lead to 2-0.

Manzo United offered little threat throughout the half, with their best effort—a free kick—sailing harmlessly wide. By halftime, Heston Munthali’s boys had established firm control, leaving the home side with a mountain to climb after the break.

Second-Half Action

The second half brought an open contest, as Manzo United pushed forward in search of a way back into the game. However, Bullets’ defense remained resolute, nullifying every attack with impressive organization and discipline.

In the 50th minute, Henderman thought he had extended the lead, only for the goal to be ruled out for offside following a sharp pass from Tebulo.

Bullets kept their intensity high, introducing substitutes to inject energy into their ranks. A late free kick by Misheck Billiat nearly resulted in a third goal, but Matthews Nkunika’s follow-up effort narrowly missed the target.

Manzo United surged forward during the final 10 minutes in desperate pursuit of a goal, but Bullets’ defense stood firm, repelling every attack with composure and determination.

When the referee blew the final whistle, Bullets Reserves emerged as deserving 2-0 winners after displaying clinical finishing and defensive solidity throughout the encounter.

Munthali’s Post-Match Reaction

“The boys showed hunger, and our game plan worked perfectly. We took our chances when it mattered and stayed solid at the back. Credit to Manzo United—they fought hard, but our defense was rock solid today.”
