Bullets to face Mafco at Dedza Stadium on Sunday

After winning the FDH Bank Cup on Sunday, Nyasa Big Bullets return to TNM Super League action with an away game to Mafco.

The league leaders will face the Salima-based side at Dedza Stadium on Sunday.

Initially, the game was scheduled to be played at Chitowe Stadium in Nkhotakota, but the Super League of Malawi announced on Monday that the venue had changed because Mafco’s home ground will not be available to host this fixture due to other engagements.

Bullets will make a return to Dedza Stadium for the first time in more than five years, having last played at the facility in 2017.

It also means The People’s Team, who are only looking for four points to officially retain the league championship, will remain with one away game, against Mighty Tigers at Mpira Stadium and the rest of the matches will be hosted at Kamuzu Stadium.

Kalisto Pasuwa’s side comfortably leads the standings with 61 points, eight points above the second-placed Blue Eagles, who have played a game more than the defending champions.

A win over Mafco will see Bullets inching closer to winning the title, but also breaking the 62-point mark they set in the 2020/21 season.

After the trip to Mafco, Pasuwa’s men will remain with Dedza Dynamos, Tigers, Karonga United and Moyale Barracks.

Bullets are unbeaten in more than 37 matches across all domestic competitions.

The last defeat they registered was in September last year when they lost 1-0 to rivals Mighty Mukuru Wanderers in the TNM Super League.
