Head Coach Gilbert Chirwa has named his starting XI for this afternoon’s FDH Bank Premiership encounter against Red Lions at Joyce Chitsulo Stadium in Mwanza.
Kick-off is set for 14:30 as Maule return to Joyce Chitsulo Stadium looking to build on the momentum from last weekend’s Blantyre derby victory in our second home fixture at the newly-built venue.
Chirwa has made two changes to the side that started in our 2-1 victory over Mighty Wanderers in Lilongwe last week.
Maxwell Phodo, who picked up a red card in that encounter, is replaced by Misheck Billiat, while Peter Banda is handed his first competitive start of the campaign in place of Chawanangwa Gumbo.
Billiat returns to the starting lineup after making his comeback from injury off the bench against Wanderers last Sunday.
Ephraim Kondowe keeps his place in the side after winning the early penalty that helped Bullets take the lead inside five minutes against Wanderers.
Captain Blessings Mpokera leads the side from defence alongside Emmanuel Kaunga, Andrew Jovinala and Aaron Chilipa in the backline ahead of goalkeeper Innocent Nyasulu.
Yankho Singo and Paul Master anchor the midfield alongside Peter Banda as Bullets look to impose control and intensity in central areas.
Billiat and Clever Kalambo operate on the flanks while Kondowe leads the attack as Maule look to continue their positive start to the campaign.
Chirwa also has a strong mix of experience and attacking options available from the bench for this afternoon’s contest.
