Starting XI: Chirwa names unchanged squad for Hammers

Gilbert Chirwa has named his squad for this afternoon’s Castel Challenge Cup semifinal against Mzuzu City Hammers at Kamuzu Stadium.

The FCB Nyasa Big Bullets interim head coach has kept faith with the same squad that secured a 2-0 win over Mighty Tigers last weekend.

Blessings Mpokera again leads the team from the back, bringing leadership and calm to the defense with skipper Frank Willard starting on the bench.

The midfield duo of Paul Master and Yankho Singo promises creativity and control, linking up with the attack to keep Hammers under pressure.

Up front, Maxwell Phodo will be a player to watch. The striker scored a brace against Mighty Tigers and has now found the net in all three Castel Cup matches, taking his tally to seven goals.

He will be looking to extend his scoring run as Bullets chase a place in the final and a potential Golden Boot. Ephraim Kondowe leads the line, with Yamikani Mologeni providing pace and width on the flanks to stretch the visitors’ defense.

In goal, Innocent Nyasulu will anchor the defense, ready to keep Hammers at bay, while the rest of the squad looks balanced and determined to impose themselves from the first whistle.

The substitutes for the semifinal include Richard Chimbamba, Blessings Joseph, Edward Thengo, Frank Willard, Mike Mkwate, Peter Banda, Sean Mcbrams, Hassan Kajoke, and Bright Munthali.

These options give Chirwa the ability to inject fresh energy if needed.

Maule, the stage is set. The boys are ready, the stadium is ready, and all that’s left is for you to be there to cheer The People’s Team toward the Castel Challenge Cup final.
