Starting XI: Mponda names line-up for Karonga clash

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets head coach Peter Mponda has confirmed his starting XI for this afternoon’s TNM Super League clash against Karonga United at Karonga Stadium.

The team is targeting a vital away win as they look to maintain their lead at the top of the table.

Richard Chimbamba returns to goal after a brief spell on the sidelines. The goalkeeper, who missed five matches before featuring as a substitute in the 2-0 win over Kamuzu Barracks in Lilongwe and later in Mchinji, will be crucial in keeping a clean sheet against Karonga.

Captain Frank Willard is back in the starting XI after missing the previous three matchday squads, adding leadership and experience to the midfield. Yamikani Mologeni and Maxwell Phodo also start, providing energy and stability in both defense and midfield.

Mponda has made several adjustments from the team that started in last Sunday’s 2-0 loss to Creck Sporting Club, giving the squad fresh legs while retaining key performers. Players such as Innocent Nyasulu, Paul Master, Peter Banda, and Ephraim Kondowe start on the bench, ready to make an impact if called upon.

Vice-captain Babatunde Adepoju will spearhead the Bullets attack, looking to convert opportunities into goals and secure an important road victory. His leadership and experience upfront will be key in a match that could influence the race for the top spot.

A win today against Karonga United is crucial for maintaining their position at the summit before second-placed Mighty Wanderers take on Ekhaya FC on Sunday.

With Chimbamba, Willard, Mologeni, and Phodo starting, and fresh options on the bench, all eyes will be on Peter Mponda’s side as they aim to continue their winning form in the TNM Super League.
