FCB Nyasa Big Bullets have provided the latest squad update ahead of Sunday’s FDH Bank Premiership encounter against Karonga United at Karonga Stadium.
The People’s Team will make a first trip to the Northern Region this season seeking to follow last weekend’s 2-0 victory over Chitipa United with successive league wins.
Assistant coach Heston Munthali confirmed during this week’s pre-match press conference that Hassan Kajoke has been added to the injury list after sustaining a knee injury.
“We have added another player to the injury list. Kajoke has a knee injury, so he joins the likes of Chaomba and others who are still recovering,” he said.
Kajoke was not part of the matchday squad against Chitipa and now joins George Chaomba, Paul Master and Chrispin Mapemba among the players currently sidelined.
Clever Kalambo will also be unavailable for the Matchweek 13 fixture after accumulating three yellow cards in the league this campaign.
The winger scored our second goal in last weekend’s victory at Mpira Stadium but will serve a one-match suspension at Karonga Stadium.
From a fitness perspective, Bullets have no additional concerns among the group that was available against Chitipa.
“All the players who were available against Chitipa are available for selection,” Munthali confirmed.
Kalambo’s suspension will require at least one change to the matchday group, but the remainder of the available squad is in contention for Sunday’s assignment.
The trip presents Bullets with an opportunity to register successive league victories for the first time since defeating Masters FC and Creck Sporting Club in consecutive fixtures.
Bullets begin Matchweek 13 fourth in the standings with 23 points from 12 matches, two behind leaders Silver Strikers and second-placed Blue Eagles.
Karonga occupy 12th position with 12 points from the same number of games. Although they enter the fixture after consecutive defeats across all competitions, seven of their league points have come at Karonga Stadium.
Victory would strengthen our position among the leading sides and maintain the pressure at the top of the FDH Bank Premiership table.
The match kicks off at 14:30.
