FCB Nyasa Big Bullets return to Mpira Stadium on Sunday as we welcome Chitipa United for our Matchweek 12 encounter in the FDH Bank Premiership.
The People’s Team resume league action following last weekend’s Airtel Top 8 semi-final break, with kick-off scheduled for 14:30.
Tickets for the fixture will cost MWK7,000 for the Open Stand and MWK15,000 for the VIP Stand.
There will be no advance sales, with tickets available exclusively at Mpira Stadium on matchday.
Sunday’s encounter will be our first outing since the 1-0 defeat away to Goshen City Dedza Dynamos at Dedza Stadium in our previous league assignment.
The result left us fourth in the standings on 20 points from 11 matches, just two behind leaders Mighty Wanderers. Silver Strikers and Blue Eagles are also on 22 points, with goal difference separating the top three.
With four fixtures remaining before the halfway point of the campaign, Sunday presents Nyirenda’s side with an opportunity to respond on home soil and keep pace with the leading pack.
Chitipa make the trip south sitting eighth in the standings with 16 points. They arrive at Mpira Stadium on the back of a 1-0 victory over Ekhaya FC at Chitipa Stadium in their previous league outing.
Bullets completed a league double over Sunday’s opponents last season, recording a 3-0 victory at Kamuzu Stadium in the first round before Henry Chiwaya and Babatunde Adepoju struck in a 2-0 win at Chitipa Stadium in the reverse fixture.
This weekend’s meeting will be the 12th top-flight encounter between the two teams. The People’s Team have won nine of the previous 11, with one draw and one defeat completing the record.
Back on home soil, Maule supporters will have another opportunity to rally behind Nyirenda and his charges as we look to return to winning ways and maintain our challenge at the top end of the table.
