Babatunde Adepoju rejoins Bullets on loan

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets is delighted to confirm the signing of Babatunde Adepoju on a one-year loan deal from Venda Football Academy.

The 29-year-old forward left The People’s Team to join the South African Premier Division side at the end of the 2022 season.

Before his departure, the Nigerian, who joined Bullets in the middle of the 2021 season, made 46 appearances for Kalisto Pasuwa’s side, scoring 34 goals and providing ten assists.

During his stay at Bullets, Babatunde won one Charity Shield, two TNM Super League titles, one Airtel Top 8 Cup and the FDH Bank Cup.

After netting eight goals, he won the 2021 Airtel Top 8 Golden Boot Award and was named Player of the Tournament.

In the 2022 campaign, the forward scored 18 TNM Super League goals to win the Golden Boot Award and he inspired the Malawi champions to a fourth straight league title.

During his previous spell with Bullets, Baba also scored five goals in the 2022 FDH Bank Cup to be named Player of the Tournament.

Babatunde told the club media on Tuesday:

“It’s a good feeling to be back. It’s another adventure for me and I know God is going to see me through and give me the strength and ability to continue from where I stopped. The relationship I have with players, technical panel, supporters and management will make it very easy for me to bond well and continue where I stopped a year ago. I don’t see any challenge in performing this season because I have been here before [and] I am not new in the system. I’m looking forward to the season ahead.

“Regarding what the team did last year [winning a quadruple], you can see that they achieved a lot without me. So, I am just coming to add value and not to stamp authority. I just want to add value to the team and see how it goes at the end of the season.”

He becomes Pasuwa’s second signing following the arrival of Lloyd Aaron on a three-year permanent deal from Civil Service United last week.
