FCB Nyasa Big Bullets has completed the signing of defender Blessings Joseph from Chitipa United on a three-year deal.
The 28-year-old, a Premier Bet Wizards Academy product, joins The People’s Team after spending a successful two years with Chitipa.
Joseph helped the Northern Region club finish in the top four in the 2023 season and battled for relegation survival last season.
“I am very excited to join FCB Nyasa Big Bullets. It’s every player’s dream to move from smaller to big teams,” he told club media after putting pen to paper on Monday.
The defender, who worked with our head coach at Wizards, said: “I will work hard to add value to the club because coach Peter Mponda has given me a new challenge to come and work with him again at Bullets. He has been monitoring me throughout my career at different clubs, and I am very grateful to him for his continuous trust in me, and I have to repay him by giving it all for Bullets.”
Joseph, who also played for TNM Stars and Sable Farming FC before joining Chitipa, is aware that Bullets has a lot of demands.
“Bullets is a big team, but Chitipa isn’t a small team. I know it’s my performance at Chitipa that has brought me here, hence I need to up my game because this team has a huge following with a lot of expectations.”
Mponda said: “I worked with him for two to three years, then he left for TN Stars and Sable Farming, and he was currently playing for Chitipa United. He is a good defender, very composed, and if you want to play from the back, he is very suitable for that game. Maybe people didn’t know too much about him because he was playing for smaller teams, but he is a very good defender who will add value to this club.”
