Bullets Reserves drawn in Group B of 2024 SRFL

Our reserves have been drawn in Group B of the 2024 ThumbsUp Southern Region Football League.

In a draw held on Tuesday afternoon at the Football Association of Malawi in Blantyre, Enos Chatama’s boys were drawn together with Mighty Wanderers Reserves, MDF Marine, Tigers Reserves and Ekhaya United in what is being labelled as ‘the group of death’.

There will be an increase in number of participants this season with two teams added to the 22 that battled each other in the last campaign, the SRFL committee announced during the draw.

The competition has also changed its format as the knockout stage has been phased out.
This time around, the top four finishers in Groups A and B, which now have 12 teams each, will advance to the next stage where 8 teams will play each other home and away to find one winner.

The most successful side in the Premier Division Southern Region Football League, Bullets Reserves, endured quite an indifferent ride last season, finishing third to surrender the title to Fomo FC who beat Ntopwa FC in the final and earned an automatic promotion to the Super League of Malawi.

In preparation to reclaim their crown, Chatama’s boys are so far unbeaten in as many test matches they have played.

Kick-starting their 2024 season, the young Maule will be on the road to Mponela to participate in a two-day tournament at the Champions Stadium in a fortnight.

The four-team tourney will see them play Wanderers Reserves on 20 April and should they proceed they will face the winner between Kalembelembe FC and Ekhaya United.
